World Photography Organisation belum lama ini mengumumkan daftar para peserta terpilih untuk kategori fotografer Professional, Open, Youth pada Sony World Photography Awards 2013. Sebanyak 122.000 peserta dari 170 negara telah mendaftar dan mengajukan foto-foto mereka. Hal ini merupakan jumlah tertinggi dalam sejarah event Sony World Photography Awards. Dewan juri telah memilih foto-foto berdasarkan orisinalitas, kualitas dan daya tarik.
Dibagi menjadi tiga kategori yang berbeda, Professional, Open dan Youth/Student. Dari situ foto-foto akan dipisahkan kembali menjadi sub-kategori seperti Arsitektur, Nature and Wild Life dan Travel. Foto-foto yang terpilih akan dipamerkan di Somerset House, London mulai dari 26 April hingga 21 Mei. Pemenang dalam kategori Professional akan menerima hadiah uang tunai sebesar $25.000 sedangkan pemenang dalam kategori Open diberikan hadiah sebesar $5.000.
